Congratulations on your decision to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage.

All couples preparing for marriage should note the following:

1. As soon as the couple approaches the parish to book the church, the couple should make an appointment to meet the priest so as to complete the paperwork.

2. All couples are required to take part in the Accord pre-marriage course. Further details are available at www.accord.ie

3. The ‘Church papers' ought to be filled out with the couple at least six months before the wedding is due to be celebrated.

If you are getting married in a church outside Mullingar Parish ....

Before booking your wedding, it is very important that you have spoken with the priest whom you wish to celebrate the wedding Mass. Plese make sure that the priest has confirmed his availability for the ceremony.

If you are getting married abroad ....

Couples planning to get married abroad must contact Cathedral House before making any arrangements with a travel agent or wedding co-ordinator. This should help to ensure that no serious difficulties arise before major commitments have been made.
