Moving statues

St Joseph has found a new home in the grounds of the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar.  This beautiful statue, which had originally stood in the Presentation Convent grounds, has been given a more prominent position, close to the entrance to the parish office.

Since his election, Pope Francis has often spoken about the importance of St Joseph and the good example he set.  In fact the Pope requested that St Joseph's intercession be sought during the Eucharistic Prayer each time Mass is celebrated.  It is hoped that St Joseph, the guardian of the Holy Family, will protect the parish as it begins the Jubilee year, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral.
